A 29-year-old Ghanaian woman has publicly accused her longtime boyfriend of abandoning her after convincing her to take out a loan to support their planned wedding.
The woman shared her story during an appearance on a popular relationship and dispute-resolution platform hosted by media personality Aunty Naa.
According to her, she began dating her boyfriend, identified as Joe, when she was just 19 years old. At the time, she was learning hair braiding as a trade but was unable to complete her training after becoming pregnant.
She explained that the relationship lasted for 12 years and resulted in the birth of two children. Throughout that period, she believed they were working towards marriage.
However, she alleged that shortly before their anticipated wedding, Joe persuaded her to take an MTN Quick Loan of GH¢5,000 to supplement money he had already saved for the ceremony.
The woman claimed she trusted her partner and handed over the entire amount after securing the loan.
According to her account, events took an unexpected turn after the money was given to him. She alleged that Joe later informed her that he was no longer interested in marrying her.
She further claimed that he subsequently moved out of their home and assumed full custody of their two children, leaving her devastated and burdened with the outstanding loan.
The emotional story has generated widespread discussion on social media, with many users expressing sympathy for the woman while debating issues of trust, financial responsibility, and long-term relationships.
