Two suspected armed robbers were shot dead this morning in Tema Community 6 during a police anti-robbery operation.
According to multiple eyewitness accounts, the suspects had earlier robbed and unalived a female Mobile Money (MoMo) vendor in the St. Paul area, making away with a large amount of cash.
While fleeing, they were confronted by police in Community 6. In the confrontation, both robbers were shot and unalived on the spot.
Videos from the scene show police vehicles and officers on location, with what appears to be recovered cash visible near the bodies.
No injuries to police or bystanders have been reported so far. This seems to be part of ongoing efforts against the motorbike robbery gangs that have been terrorising the Tema area. The Ghana Police is yet to issue an official statement.
